Italian Addiction

I must confess, I'm a bit addicted to Italian bookbinding papers--so elegantly beautiful. Problem is, I buy them, but then I tend to just want to keep them :) . I've finally started to dip into my stash (although there are still a few I got in Venice a while back that I can't quite bring myself to use yet). Here are a couple of perpetual diaries I made using a combination of Italian papers and Italian bookcloth:

And here is a wine journal made with some brown and gold Italian paper:

I didn't know there was such a thing as book binding fabric. How is it different? Lovely books!

I love that fleur-de-lis paper. Stunning! Nicely done, it's perfect for a wine journal.

waterrose, bookbinding fabric is sealed on one side, so you can put paste on it without it seeping through to the other side and staining the cloth. Italian book cloth comes in really lovely, rich colors. The only problem with it is that it tends to curl when you put glue on it, so sometimes I feel like I'm in a wrestling match when I'm gluing a book together! :)

I tend to collect papers also. I always want to save a scrap at least... is that to remember it by? I don't know.

Lovely journals.

These are beautiful... I too have some lovely papers I haven't used, this inspires me to get them out and, yes, use them!
